Our Heritage

We offer traditional instruction in Shotokan Karate to youth. Our program is directly constructed after the manner of Master Gichin Funakoshi (founder of Shotokan Karate), and we can trace our genealogy back to Master Funakoshi himself. Although we focus on the three main principles of Karate: Kata (form), Kihon (basics), and Kumite (sparring) - Karate is not just a physical discipline. We heavily focus on the spiritual aspects of Karate illustrated in our class theme:

"The ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory or defeat,
but in perfection of the character of its participants."
